Speech & Pronunciation

Text-to-speech

I’m wondering if I will buy tts voices for learning English. But I'm not sure which ones to buy because I can't tell whether voice is natural or not. So, please choice 4 more natural voices among 8 Amerian and British voices.

You can listen to the voices here?

The voices are all natural. They all mispronounce words occasionally-- this is the fault of the composition software, not the voices. For example, I input this sentence: 'The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation'.

  • Many of the speakers are slower than conversational English normally is.

If you really want to improve your pronunciation, you'd better listen to real spoken language, and if you need to know how to pronounce a word you can look it up in a good dictionary (all good English dictionaries have phonemic transcriptions and many of them also have audio clips you can listen
