Is hunting animals because they are pests, like foxes, less acceptable than killing them for food?
And where does fishing fit into the discussions? (So far ok.)
Not so much those who catch a few fish to eat or sell, but rather those people who spend hour after hour sitting on the river bank with no intention of killing or eating their catch.

Thanks to both of you.
IMO, if you fish for its own sake, you just trouble your catch and nothing else: the fish does not like to hang on a hook.
So in this respect it is unjustifiable to fish.
On the other hand, eating them is a horse of different color, because then you sustain your body.
