I have a test to do, where I have to identify a mistake made by a pupil, and rectify and explain it. But I have no idea what is wrong with this particular statement. It goes as follows :
In a birthday card: ‘Please find enclosed the sum of £10.’
Apparently there is something wrong with this sentence....I don't know whether it is the fact it was written inside the card....or something wrong with the sentence itself?
Please help!

It's not wrong. It's just a bit stiff and business-like for a birthday message. It would be more common to just write eg Happy Birthday!

It would be more common to just write eg Happy Birthday!
And just put the money inside the card.

I'm so confused....the test seems to suggest that there is something wrong with the sentence. It states I must underline the mistake and correct it........Maybe its the fact that it states 'in a birthday card'.....suggesting that you cant enclose the money as you have already opened it......and that it should be written on the envelope??
