I would consider both therefore and consequently correct for No. 1. For No. 2: He behaved as if he had committed a crime. Both as long as and because appear correct to me in No. 3. For No. 7, I suggest similarly; because is impossible here: something happening today cannot possibly be the reason for something that occurred in the 19th
