Test, FCE, phrases of purpose and reason

Hi there. There is a quiz from book "Grammar and vocabulary for First Certificate", preparing for the ESOL First Certificate in English (FCE) (Cambridge University) . It's extracted from one module, devoted to Link words : purpose and reason. It implies upper-intermediate level. I hope it would be useful.

Hi! Anybody can help me?

I don't get it why on number 5 we use "due to". It seems weird to me when if we say "The traffic jam is due to to major roadworks." I never seen "to" and "to" together.

Thank you in advance for your answer.

Hi,
It's just a slight error in how the choices are set up. The phrase is just 'due to to'.

I scored 9. Simple assignment. Desperate. I always have mistakes. But! I think that in the 10th sentence you can use both variants:
We'll join the euro because our economy will improve.
We'll join the euro, because of that our economy will improve.

How do you think?
