Tessbo or something that sounds alike

A conversation hear from a 1944 USA movie (film noir):

- (Sound of three gunshots)
- Ow, this time they got me. They got me for Keats.
- Who was the [tessbo]? Who shot you?
- The dirty devil, he was. This is the way he pays me off. I know so much, see?

What can be the word that sounds like 'tessbo'? Is it maybe American slang for dude, guy, killer, gangster...?

If you can post the clip somewhere, as you have done with some previous questions, I think we would have a much better chance of getting it.

Sazbo' is what I hear; it is the other person's name; I am not familiar with the characters in the movie.

- This time they got me. Got me for keeps.
- Who was it, Sazbo? Who shot you?
- The dirty devil...

The name of the man who is dying is Szabo. The word is not as*hole, sure, it's Szabo.
I wasn't so sure about keeps or Keats. Okay, now I see it's keeps. Thank you for your help.
