I just know about the terms how to say a couple below!

This order is the deeper and more serious relationship
Is it right order?
Be together (I want to know to use this one how much serious relationship )

For instance, If he is not serious about her that much yet and wants to know her more, he can say "we've been together now but I am not sure if I want in a relationship."

In Asia if we start to be a boyfriend then we can use the word "date" but in English there's different words for different steps to be a couple. Like stage by stage. Right?
I heard from my British friend that she thinks when she just started to get to know someone she interest in, the term "date" dose more make sense for her and it's not that serious step.
If it is right, how can we use this phrase " how long have you been dating?"
For example,
If they go out for 4 years then they are enough serious in a relationship but the term "date" use for just casual relationship.
It is different cultures and languages so I am really confused and curious! Help me please:)
