Terminology

Hi, I am struggling with the terminology to describe 'bladder was bursting' other than simple alliteration my mind is blank as to how to further define it, any suggestions would be useful. Many thanks.

Well, it's only that his bladder wasn't actually bursting, is it a metaphor perhaps?
