Terminated? Terminated from employment?

I work for a Human Resources department in an organization. They want me to come up with a certain wording regarding the firing of an associate.

Would you write:

John Doe was terminated.

John Doe was terminated from employment.

John Doe's employment was terminated.

John Doe was fired.

Store Manager Jim Doe terminated John Doe's employment.

Store Manager terminated John Doe from employment.

If you disagree with any/all of the above suggestions, how'd you write it?

Thanks.

Some words have an implication about the reason behind his cessation of employment.

If he acted improperly and that was the cause of the termination, you might use other words than if he was a seasonal employee and he was no longer needed, or if there were reductions company-wide.

What circumstances do you need to convey?
