Tenses with looking for

Good morning,

I am about to leave my home stay family and was just wandering, if I had used the correct tense when I talked about my goodbye present: (BTW are the tenses in this prelude correct as well? <-)

"I hope you like this puzzle, I had been looking for one with a good Motiv for ages before I found this one"

"I hope you like this puzzle, I was looking for a good one, but didn't really like most of them"

"I looked for a puzzle for a long time and finally my eye was drawn to this here."
