Please help me with the tenses for these diverse writing situations.
Situation 1 (telling a story in present tenses)
He comes home early. He prepares his dinner. Having eaten dinner, he goes out for a short walk (Is this OK? After eating dinner, he goes out for a short walk) He then does what his mother has told him to do the previous day (Is this OK? He then does what his mother told him the prior/previousl day) He then goes to sleep.
Sitution 2 (explaning steps to making something)
He prepares all the materials needed and puts them in one place. He then goes through the first step as has been told by the instructor (Is this OK? He then does through the first step as was told by the instructor) After the first step, he will do the second step, as has been told by the instructor (Is this OK? After the first step, he will do the second step, as was told by the instructor).
Situation 3 (an informal message, possibly from somebody in a certain position to give) Note: I am trying make up sentences that would helpful in answering my questions and thus please excuse me if the content does not make sense.
How have you all been doing?... I have heard that some children are hopping to their destinations, like rabbits hopping to their meals... One more thing, please do not hesitate to come in to my office for consultation. My door is open always. Come through, come through, anytime you need may assistance.
My question on Situation 3 example writing: To me, I think the above writing is like writing down what he said (if not mistaken, I think, transcribing what he says on a piece of paper) -- especially the last sentence. I don't think this style is formal in nature, but I think I have seen this kind of style of writing being used as some sort of message by someone in a certain position to do so. Do you think this is OK?
