Mary: How are you?
Jane: I am fine, thank you.
Sarah: what did she ask you?
Jane: she asked me how I am.
If "reported speach" waht OP meant, then I think he could say to the other person: you asked me how I am or you are asking me how I am. It depends on why and what you wa
