Background: I am analysing some data of a report that comparing the results of the first quarter of 2017 versus the same period of 2016.
Writing: Sales volume is 10% lower than the same period last year. Total expenditures are 73% higher than the same period last year. This service is progressing well.
Q1. Should I use the present tense “is” or “are”? Or should I use the past tense as the time period is in the past?
Q2. Is it that I am referring to a report, so that all becomes present tense?
Thanks.
