Well in this activity there are 12 mistakes in the uses of tenses. Please check it for me.
1. I ~~have studied~~ have been studying at university for four years now. Next year, I hope I graduate and then I ~~am getting~~ get a job in advertising. At university, I ~~have studied~~ studied English and History. I like studying, but sometimes I ~~have~~ had to read a lot. Over the past year, I read over 50 novels and plays. Now I ~~get~~ am getting quite tired of academic work, so I ~~am looking~~ look forward to life in the real world.
2. When I first met Ludwig, he ~~have been living~~ had been living in a squat in South London. Ludwig ~~had been~~ was completely filthy and in need of a shower. When he was telling me his problems, I gave him something warm to eat and ~~had told~~ told him to have a shower.

Here it's a hope, and it can be followed by present simple that's way I considered it correct.

A general truth, her opinion.

Finished action.

When he was telling me his problems

This one, I think I've missed it, because I thought it was while rather than when.

I gave him something warm to eat

2. There are no errors except "While he was telling me his problems.." as you pointed out in your second post.

Next year, I hope I graduate and then I am getting a job in advertising. (To me, "I'm getting a job..." suggests that the speaker knows or is pretty sure / certain that he/she is going to get that job in advertising. Remember that without a future time reference, the present continuous tense shows what is happening or going on or in progress in the present, right now, or around now, but when we use the present continuous tense with a future time reference, it shows that something is planned or arranged to happen in the future.)

I'd rephrase that sentence like this: Next year, I hope I graduate and then I get a job in advertising. [Present continuous (getting a job), to me, is not appropriate here.]
