Tenses?

Here is an exercice that I've found some difficulties in solving it. I'm required to provide the most appropriate form of tenses.
1.Tom(to have)had a hard time finding a job. He (to try) had been trying to get a new job for six months before he finally (to find) found a position at a local community college. Now, he(to have)has a two-year contract. He (to teach) teaches there for only a few weeks, but he(to like)likes his new job very much.
2.Helen: You(to have) any plans for tomorrow?
Jessica: We ( to take) will take the children to the park.
Helen: I(to hear) have heard on the radio that it would rain.
Jessica: Oh. Then I guess we (to stay) will stay home. If we (to stay) will stay home, I (to call) will call to invite you over to watch a video with us.
Thank you in advance.
