Tenses

Does this make sense?

I wish I never had to miss you again.

I wanted to tell someone whom I haven't seen in a very long time that I wished I didn't have to miss them so much. This is how I worded the statement and as I am rereading it, it just doesn't make any sense or is it just me.

  • If you tell someone that you wish you didn't miss them, in a way you're saying that you prefer to be indifferent to their absence.

Perhaps you mean: I hope I'll never have to miss you again.
