Tenses

Hi. Which is correct? Are they both correct? I feel no. 2 is correct but am not so sure about no. 1.

1. He did what has been asked.

2. He has done what was asked.

Top answer

Grammatically both look fine. Depending the context and tense, I would revise them: 1. He did exactly what has been asked.

Same here. I would say that the first one is wrong. Bare minimum, it's unidiomatic.
