Tenses

00Please correct this.02br

00Today, I went to xxx for a weekend trip. Since I had to go back to work next Monday, my trip was going to be a two-day and one-night (two day, one night??) trip. I took a bus early in the morning with much anticipation and arrivved at XXX Terminal after two and a half hours later. A train ride could have been more comfortable and efficient but a ride by bus was cheaper; and that was a main factor for the decision to take a morining bus. When I got there, I felt a little hungry and went into (to??) a little stall in the Termnal that served noodles to get some oriental noodles. Having filled my stomach, I headed to a station to take the subway. As I was going downstairs, I saw a balloon up above my head. I thought, "Whose that could it be?" Then, I saw a boy running after the balloon. He almost tripped on his way to catch the balloon. There was a small puddle on one of the steos. I could tell it wasn't going to be successtul since by the time he took few steps to catch it, the balloon went up higher than his arms can reach. I must say that he almost caught it. I thought, "Had I tried to catch the balloon, I could very well have slipped." Life seems to offer choices but making (the??) right decisions sometimes seem (to be??) as elusive as that balloon that just missed the boy's hand. 0-

00I don't understand why they have to be present tenses. Why should I make tenses from the past time point of view? It seems logical.02br
