Tense simplification

I have a question.

Tense simplification is carried in one of the most famous english grammar books, “A student's grammar of the english language written by Sidney Greenbaum and Randolph Quirk" ?

I have seen tense simplification only in Practical english usage, so ,if possible, I want to study about it further myself if it is carried in "A student's grammar of the english language"

I've already tried looking for information on tense simplification in the book ,but I couldn't find.

If it is carried in the book, could you tell me where the chapter for tense simplification is located?
or if not, could you tell me any book providing what I want?

If you Google Tense and Aspect in Discourse, or try just Googling tense simplification, the book you are looking for will pop up. Hope this helps. =^^=
