Choosing a correct tense is a big problem for me when I'm making a sentence like this.
1 : The experience I had with the local people wasn't something that money can buy.
2 : The experience I had with the local people wasn't something that money could buy.
Which is the correct sentence I should make? What's the difference between them if both are correct?
Both are possible. (1) says that it is still the case that you can't buy that experience. (2) says that this was the case in the past (it does not state anything about the present situation).
