Tense of "pretend" and "would"
I've found following sentence from one of YouTube videos.
Would you pretend you weren't along?
Please someone tell me what is the tense of the above sentence. I mean, even though it look as though a past tense sentence, according to the context what I could understood was it should be present tense. Therefore, please someone let me know what is the tense of this sentence.
