Tense (had+ 3rd form of the verb)
hey, when i want to write both parts of the sentence in the same ttense (had + 3rd form) is it okay if i write:
The Pianist had left the car and walked towards the back door.
or do i have to write "had walked" > use the had again? what i want to know is, does one 'had' refer to both verbs in this case or does each verb need its own 'had' to express no shift of tenses
