Tense "forms"

I have to give the "form" for a tense, for example:
Graham _was having_ a bath
What is the "form" of _was having_? I know it is the past continuous but I have been asked to identify the form.
Thanks for any help

It seems to me that "past continuous" is the form.

Perhaps the teacher expects something like:

The past continuous is formed with the past simple of the auxiliary verb BE and the -ing form of the full verb
