Tense form

Dear teachers

Please, tell me if we put the perfect tense form if we have the word combination 'the previous day'.

E.g. She had gone there the previous day. (should it be like this?)

Thanks in advance

You can. You don't have to. You have more than one choice.

She was supposed to be there this coming Tuesday, but as it turns out, she will be going there the previous day (Monday).

She was supposed to be there this past Tuesd

Can you specify any particular aspect of the topic that is causing the most problems for you? Maybe if you asked another question ...

CJ as far as I understood from your example that I can use 'the previous day' with the Present Perfect tense form. Is that right or not?

It's not right.

You cannot use 'the previous day' with the present perfect. (has/have ...)

You can use 'the previous day' with the past perfect. (had ...)
