Thanks, Clive.

I agree a sounds wrong, but what if the rest of my passage is present tense and I want to say that I am still able to operate, not that I was able to operate?

Hi,

a) After I received training, I am still able to operate websites. Sounds like the training might have ben be a reason you couldn't.

Consider this more reasonable example.

After I broke my arm, I am still able to drive.

OK, so how do I say this then? SO that it is still saying that I am presently able to operate, once I received training?

Thanks

Hi,

I suggested

Because I received training, I am able to operate websites.

( I still don't understand what you mean by 'operate'. )
