Tense exercise

Hi,

I was in a coffee shop sipping coffee when I received a phone call. I took the phone and Joe said that he would be waiting in front of my house about two hours later, at 6 p.m. I said that I would be there and hung up the phone. I finished drinking coffee and went to a nearby subway station to head to XXX, which is the city which I live in. It took roughly one hour and forty minutes to reach home, taking the subway and two city buses. When I arrived there, Joe was waiting for me as he said. We greeted each other and went into my house to talk.
