Tense difference

Hi,

In normal situations, how are they different? I sometimes have difficulty in knowing which is proper. The 'would like to have' version seems to be OK as a response when askd with the phrase "would you."

Would you like an apple?
Yes, I would like an apple.
Yes, I would like to have an apple.

Would you like a window seat?
Yes, I would like a window seat.
Yes, I would like to have a window seat.

Top answer

In normal situations, these are all fine and synonymous responses. In bold are the commoner alternatives: Would you like an apple? Yes, I would like an apple.
