I would be sad that she was there first person to die.

I'd rather he got [gets] here lat than early.

He paced the house as if he was is waiting for someone. [He's been pacing the room as if he is waiting for someone.]

You would have been better off coming when I wasn't around.

I didn't realise I drank [was drinking] a lot of milk.
