Tense and wording problems in these sentences? HELP PLEASE

Could you please help me fix these sentences grammatically?

- What one has to do to be/get forgiven.
- What does one ask/expect of such a car? These cars can preform and do what you ask them to.
- I start/ I'll start having 3 days off at the end of the month.
- Your breath smells like whatever you've eaten/you ate.
- I was standing at the beginning/front of the platform.
- The french get paid the most hourly (next) after England.
- Why don't you use the simple tense/Why is the simple tense not to be used.
