Are the following four sentences all grammatically OK?
If so, are there any differences between them?
a) I think that Mary may have missed the bus.
b) I think that Mary might have missed the bus.
c) I thought that Mary may have missed the bus.
d) I thought that Mary might have missed the bus.

You can go from present to past in moving from the main clause to the subordinate clause, but not the reverse, so only c) is wrong. CJ
