Tense

A pragmatic and smart woman ,she purchased a gold and silver tone watch that she can wear with both her silver and gold jewelry.

My questions are- 1. What is the necessity to say " she" .Just simply say- A pragmatic and smart woman purchased a gold and silver.....-- wouldn't it be better?

2. Why " can" is here? As it indicates past by " purchased".

Top answer

1. " -- this introduces the woman for the first time. " -- this tells us more about a woman we already know of.
