Tense

If a guy asks me, " have you ever had a girlfriend ?"
What should I answer ?
1) Yes! I have ever had one. She's called Kate.

2) Yes! I have had one. She's called Kate.

3) I had one who's called Kate.

What's the difference among 3 choices ?please explain concretely thanks!!

Present perfect tense and the past tense mean the same here .

We normally answer a question using the same tense it is asked in.
The long answer would be 'Yes, I have had a girlfriend'.

If somebody asks us, "Have you ever had a girl friend?", what do they actually want to know? Do they want to know if we have a girl friend? Or Do they want to know if we had a girl friend?
