Hi,

1. Do they have basically the same meaning?

Having eaten breakfast, he headed for the park.
After eating breakfast, he headed for the park

2. Is this tense correctly reflect the past thinking?

I was thinking about the issue and one thing that seemed to come up over and over in my mind is "why does she doing this?"
