Hi,

If writing about Bible verses, Which one should I use?

I think the penalty for sin is heavy. We are redeemed from the law bacause of His death and resurrection. Also, because He has suffered (suffered??)in our place.

He has suffered in our place. Thus, we need not suffering for our sin.

You can use it in your original; I just find simple past more straightforward. This is also fine:

He has suffered in our place. Thus, we need not suffer for our sins.
