0probably 'tenterhooks' from the context and I it would sound similar if you weren't familiar with the expression 'to be on tenterhooks'.0-

00I don't understand what the sentence is supposed to mean.. does the sentence make sense, and if so what does it mean? I'm confused about the part where it says 'the threat'.. how that plays along with the rest of the sentence. Well, frankly, other parts are confusing too.0-
