We tend to get cold winters and warm, dry summers in this part of the country.

I wanted to know what is the meaning of tend to in this sentence???ofcourse I know tend to here doesnt mean intend...plz give me more examples

Cambridge defines 'tend to' as phrasal verb:

tend to sb/sth phrasal verb
to deal with the problems or needs of a person or thing:
Would you mind waiting? I'm tending to another customer at the moment.
