Ten years is/are too long for me to wait.

Hi teachers!

I have learned that 'time' related subject always takes singular verbs as shown in #1 but there are some exceptions as shown in #2.


1. It has been ten years since he died.

2. Ten years have passed since he died.


Then which is grammatical between #3 and #4?

3. Ten years is too long for me to wait.

4. Ten years are too long for me to wait.
