Vocabulary

Ten minutes away by driving and thirty minutes away on foot

I have written down two sentences below.

(1) Tom and I live ten minutes away by driving.

(2) Tom and I live thirty minutes away on foot.

If you can walk to a place in ten minutes, you can get there much faster by driving. It might take just four minutes if you drive there.

Is it grammatically OK to add the phrases in bold? If not, how do you rephrase the sentences? Thanks a lot.
