Hi You can't always tell the meaning of an English word by taking it apart, but here are some ideas ... De - to remove something Dehumanise - to take away someone's humanity Decontextualisation - to take something out of context Over - to do something too much Overcooking - cooking food too much Overeating - eating too much Supra - something that crosses boundaries or is "above" the usual run of things Supranational - thinking about more than your own country Kind - this is a very old morpheme and, roughly, it means to act as you would toward your family ... Kindness - a natural feeling of friendliness or charity,as if you were acting toward a member of your own family Humankind - the human race, perhaps seen as one family Contra - against or opposite Contradict - to say the opposite Contradistinction - showing how something is different, by pointing out the opposite Ascatter Great word!

  • I wan't sure it existed.
  • My guess is that a- here is short for all and is just used for emphasis: everything has been scattered Best regards, Dave
