How would you naturally say these 2 sentences? If I were to read them on a site, how would they be formulated please?

1 The mattress moulds to (fit) the shape of the body.
2 A tempurpedic matress is one that (moulds to) (fits)) the shape/contour of the body, making it more comfy for the person.

Tempur-Pedic itself uses to after contour, although every dictionary I've checked states that the verb is strictly transitive, so I suppose it wouldn't be wrong to drop the preposition, but I would stick with anyway just because it sounds better with it.

1 The mattress is so old, there is a dent on it the shape of my body. Why buy a Tempur-Pedic mattress to contour/ mould to the body's contour when you have an old one that does just that.

2 There was a dent in the mattress from where my body lie all night. So I placed myself back in the dent after getting up.

There was a dent in the mattress from where my body lay all night, so I placed myself back in the dent after getting up.

Mattresses 101

The mattress is so old that it affords a body impression.

Body impressions are often formed on the surface of traditional bedding that contain softer topper layers of laminated polyurethane foams.
Traditional bedding (as opposed to specialty bedding) comprises a bottom layer of coiled springs with a polyurethane foam topper. The topper can also be made of latex foam.
Body impressions are very undesirable since the polyurethane foam in that area of depression has become compressed over time and has undergone a process called densification. In essence, the foam is dead, it is no longer resilient, and can no longer return to it's original factory preset loft (flat).
Latex foam is less likely to undergo compression set over a long period (3-5 years) of time.

Then you have specialty bedding. This terminology serves to describe any beds (support surfaces) that do not contain coiled springs. They are composed of one or more layers of foam juxtaposed vertically and laminated (glued) together.

Specialty beds are made as follows :
1. Memory foam or Visco-elastic foam which is simply a higher density polyurethane foam.
2. Latex foam which feels rubber-like. Natural Latex comes from a tree. Whereas synthetic latex is made from a mixture of chemicals and very little natural latex.
3. Gel foam, which is memory foam containing small gel particles.
4. All gel mattresses. These are composed of all gel layers normally in raised square or honeycomb patterns.

Tempur Pedic mattresses are all composed of a bottom layer of "support polyurethane foam" (not memory foam).
and a topper (one or more layers) 3" to 5" made of higher density polyurethane foam (memory foam).

Topper foams that are in excess of 3.5 lbs per cubic foot density (or 56kg per meter squared) are categorized as memory foam.
The denser the foam, the heavier the foam becomes. Any polyurethane foam above 3.5lbs per cubic foot density is a memory foam (visco elastic).
Memory foams can be as dense as 7~10 lbs per cubic foot.
Traditional memory foam is 5.3 lbs per cubic foot or 84kg per m2.

Denser visco elastic foams contain smaller foam cells closer together which afford low airflow. (dense=heavy).
Regular polyurethane foam is less dense than memory foam and the foam cells are larger and more spaced apart, hence afford higher airflow. (less dense = light weight).

The next important factor is IFD (indentation force deflection). IFD is a measure of hardness or softness.
To complicate matters, different criteria for measuring foam hardness exist around the world. IFD is American standard.
Asians use newtons and so on and so forth.
Typically very soft topper foams are less than 20 IFD. Firmer support cores are made of 32~60 IFD foam cores.

Since topper layers are composed of soft polyurethane foams, they become irreversibly compressed after a few years of use and a permanent body impression is formed.
