Tell one

Are these sentences correct:

1) One gets confused when they tell one the truth.
2) One gets confused when they tell the truth to one.

3) One gets confused when the truth is told to one.

I did not like the sentences.

I think 'one' can't become an object that easily. However this one seems fine to me:

4) One gets confused when one is told the truth.

Both actually. They tell you there is a Santa Claus, then they tell you there is no Santa Claus and... You get confused, disappointed and... distrustful as well....

If there is no Santa, how can I believe anything you say?!!!!
