"Tell me what you'd say that truly makes it real."

"Tell me what you'd say that truly makes it real."
(Song : Love is You)

I saw this in a song and I was wondering if this sentence is correct in grammar? I think that the "that" should be omitted and it might be rewritten to "Tell me what you'd say truly makes it real." and "you'd say" is inserted like I say, I think, I believe, etc, right? What do you native English speakers think? Thank you so much and have a good day.

  • No, not at all.
  • You have not taken the meaning.
  • Here is a rough paraphrase: Tell me the words that you would say.

No, not at all. You have not taken the meaning. Here is a rough paraphrase:

Tell me the words that you would say. Those words would truly make it real

Thank you so much and the that clause that truly makes it real modifies what here?

What that makes it real is...

This is what that I want.

I have learned that we do not need that there, so I am confused now. What do you think?

Where did you get those? Those are not possible.

Thank you so much and I am sorry for being late and I made those because I thought the sentence structure is the same with the first example sentence.

"Tell me what you'd say that truly makes it real."
(Song : Love is You)

Here that clause modifies what like those examples, don't they? What do you think?

No, you need the whole clause to make it work, not the pronoun:

What is designed that makes it real is...

Thank you and this is so new to me and I would like to make sure so that makes it real can modify what you'd say, but not just what here, right?

That's right, though I am not sure I have given you an accurate reason.
