telephoning

Hi,

I know there are many different ways to make phone calls in states. For example.

person to person: ((( what kind is it? )))

Collect call : there is an operator helping you to get through and the caller does not have to pay for.

Do you know any kinds besides the two?

Thanks,

Lynn

Person to person is very old way of calling. You'd pay more for the call, but you'd only pay if the person you were asking for was available to take the call. These day, so many calling plans simply have unlimited long distance calling and so many people have cell phones that most of these have fallen by the wayside.

  • ) You can still call collect - an operator must assist you and the person who picks up must "accept the charges" meaning he or she agrees to pay for the call.
  • " You can also use a calling card, which bills you for calls made from a phone instead of charging the phone you're using.
