Telephone conversation

In a telephone conversation at a call center of airline reservattion,
would it be accepted if operators use "yeah" for yes to customers?
Could "yeah" be regarded as friendly?

I would like to know how customers feel about the exression.

moguwai007 Could "yeah" be regarded as friendly? The problem is not whether it's friendly, but whether it's too informal/casual for that situation. In the abstract it seems as if it would be, but in reality you might hardly notice.

  • However, in theory at least, call centre operators should try to pronounce "yes" in full when speaking to customers, in my opinion.
