The word 'technology' is uncountable or countable. It is singular (technology) or plural (technologies) in the case it is countable.

Therefore 'Technology are tools.' is not correct. By the way, these sentences don't make any sense to me.

Use of tools plays a significant part in technology (-ies). Maybe this one.

On the whole, I simply just don't understand

Thank you both.

How about this:

"Technology can be described as tools or resources that extend our bodies and capabilities."

Technology with its tools and resources is the extension of our bodies and capabilities.

It sounds good but you should ask a native English speaker or a teacher about it. It would be much easier if you used an account.

You can easily find out that who is a native English speaker or a teacher. You can check the symbols at their profile. You can see the meanings at the FAQ section:

I thought that all the "helpers" around here were native?
Is it now a question or a declarative sentence?

Ok. I probably should have written:

Aren´t all the "helpers" native English speakers? I did think that they were.

Am I correct?

Thank you for your help!
