Topic : technology has developed very fast over the past 100 years. However, some people think that technological progress has brought negative effects on the humanity.

To what extend do you agree or disagree with this opinion ?

The 21st century has already seen considerable progress in technology. Personally, I partly agree that technologies have affected human life in negative way, becasue there are wide-ranging positive effects.

On the one hand, technologies have had disadvantageous impacts on communication and workforce. The avaibility of new communication technologies can also have the result of isolating people and discourage real interaction. For example, many young people choose make friends online rather than mix with their peers in real world. Regarding workforce, there are significant increases in unemployment rates. A certain number of robots and hi-tech systems are replaced human labour, which causes a loss of job in some developed countries such as the United State.

On the other hand, these development can be extremly positive. Interactions by email, phone , or video are almost as good as face-to-face meetings, and many of us benefit from these interaction, either in work or social context. For example, firstly, telephone and the Internet allow business people in different countries to interact without meeting each others. Secondly, services like Skype create new possibilities for relations between students and teachers. Finaaly, many people use social network, like Facebook, to make friends and find people who share common interests.

In conclusion, technologies have an impact on both negative and positive way.
