Team sports or individual sports

Some people think that it is more beneficial to take part in sports which are played in team, like football. While other people think that taking part in individual sports is better, like tennis or swimming. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Sports choice is now a hotly-debated topic that often divides into two opinions whether participating in team sports or individual sports is better. Personally, I do believe both kinds of sport are reasonable as each has its own merits.

It is certainly true that team sports help people to develop so many skills. In such an environment where every member of a team has to be open with strangers, cooperate and respect their coaches and peers, they will gradually have experience in teamwork skills, leadership skills, and social skills. For example, a friend of mine had been very shy and had not worked well in the team whenever her school organized a sports competition. But since she started to play volleyball with us, she has been more a socialite than she used to be. Moreover, she leads very well. As a result, we get more trophies than ever in any particular competition thanks to her presence.

On the other hand, playing sports individually is also advantageous to some extent. Firstly, people will tend to be more independent as they do not rely on no one. This quality will help people to gain the prizes that they have been dreaming of. To illustrate, when a person wants to have a medal, then he must try his best to practice every day and control himself to ignore things that make him lose motivation. It means that he has to do everything on his own to win so his independence is improved day by day. Secondly, responsibility is also the factor that people develop during their training process. They will become more responsible and more likely to accept a bad failure or just a partial success.

In brief, I still think that both team sports and solo sports are good for everybody physically as well as mentally despite those arguments.
