Teaching present perfect

Question

I will start working with a group of teens. I need to teach them the present perfect (4 spanish native speakers its kinda difficult because we dont have that tense in spanish) any suggestions?? thanks!

Yes, you do. ha hablado is an example. So is han visto. Not that that is going to make much difference, because you use the present in Spanish in many cases where we use the present perfect in English.

Teach them typical sentences in English that use the present perfect.

That's my suggestion.

I haven't seen you for a while. How have you been?

How long have you lived in ... ?
I've lived in ... for three years / five years / ...

Have you always been interested in ... ?

Have you ever gone to the zoo?
Have you ever danced with a bear?
Have you ever seen a volcano?
Have you ever ... ?

I've never gone to the zoo.
I've never danced with a bear.
...
I've never ...

Start with the ones that use have; add the ones that use has later. Explain the difference.
There are lots of variants, so you've got your hands full.
