Teaching Phrasal Verbs

Hey!Can someone help me please?How can I help my students with phrasal verbs???I just know a few rules for separable and inseparable ones...Is there a general rule to find out whether they are separable or not? Emotion: sad

Sounds like all separated forms make sense!!!!!They could even separate 3 word verbs!!!!!!!! I'm totally frustrated as a teacher Emotion: sad

Personally, I find it easier to understand the literal meaning first, then visualize and 'translate' it to the various figurative meanings.

Then I think that you should revise your 'teaching plan', which is obviously not the best way.

It's good to understand the meaning first but they have a written exam as well.They are supposed to guess the meanings and correct forms by themselves
