Teaching how to answer questions when writing

Hello,

Does anyone know the correct method for answering questions when writing. I have some students who find it difficult to answer questions when writing. They get all the words in the wrong places ect. Is there a way to teach or formula (like when teaching grammar) on how to do this correctly and also any worksheets or excersises you can suggest for this.

Thank you for your help.

This is a hopelessly vague question, Graeme. Answering questions requires the use of all aspects of written English-- grammar and structure, vocabulary, composition, style-- as well as the ability to read and understand, and the knowledge to formulate a correct answer to the question. I have never seen worksheets or exercises on answering questions-- students usually get enough practice by, well, answering questions.

  • Do you have any more specific concerns about this that you could articulate?
